Terms & Conditions
All bookings made with Zoophilist Adventures & Safaris are subject to the following terms and conditions.
1. Price Inclusions
The price of your trip includes: Private ground transportation in a 4x4 vehicle (including fuel), the services of a professional safari guide, entry fees to all national parks and reserves mentioned in the itinerary, all activities specified (such as boat cruises, guided walks, etc.), and all meals and accommodation as per the agreed itinerary. This is applicable provided no other specific agreements have been made.
2. Price Exclusions
The price does not include: International airfare (unless otherwise agreed upon in writing), travel insurance, visa fees, beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), items of a personal nature (laundry, souvenirs, etc.), and tips/gratuities for guides and lodge staff.
3. Adjustments After Booking
If you wish to make changes to your itinerary after your booking has been confirmed, we will make every effort to arrange this where possible. Please note that the dates for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits are fixed and cannot be adjusted after booking.
4. Changes in Itinerary
In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as road closures, adverse weather conditions, security issues, or problems with accommodation, Zoophilist Adventures & Safaris reserves the right to make necessary adjustments to the itinerary for the safety and benefit of our clients. You will, of course, be informed of any changes as soon as possible.
5. Payment Terms
A down payment is required to confirm your booking. This payment will always include the full cost of Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits, as these must be secured immediately. The full balance of the safari cost is due no later than one (1) month prior to the start of your safari, unless other terms have been agreed upon in writing. For bookings made within one month of the departure date, full payment is required at the time of booking. Upon receipt of your down payment, Zoophilist Adventures & Safaris will proceed to secure all bookings and permits as per your itinerary.
6. Means of Payment
Payments from abroad should be made via bank transfer to our account in Uganda. All bank transfer fees are to be covered by the client. We also accept payment in cash in USD, EURO, or GB Pound Sterling.
7. During the Safari
The animals in the parks are wild, and as such, Zoophilist Adventures & Safaris cannot guarantee specific sightings during game drives or trekking activities. Our guides and park rangers will, however, use their expertise and best efforts to ensure you have a rewarding and memorable experience.
8. Vehicles
We maintain our vehicles to a high standard and ensure they are in roadworthy condition. However, due to the challenging road conditions often encountered on safari, events such as punctures, mechanical breakdowns, damage, or other delays can occur that are beyond our control. Zoophilist Adventures & Safaris cannot accept liability for such events.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
The following cancellation charges will apply:
- 60 days or more before safari start: 10% charge
- 59 - 32 days before safari start: 25% charge
- 31 - 8 days before safari start: 50% charge
- 7 - 3 days before safari start: 75% charge
- 2 - 0 days before safari start: 100% charge
Please note that Gorilla Permits, Chimpanzee Permits, and flight tickets (if booked by us) are excluded from the above percentages and are 100% non-refundable.
10. Complaints
Any issues or complaints arising during your safari must be reported immediately to your Zoophilist Adventures & Safaris guide so that we can endeavor to resolve them promptly. If a matter remains unresolved to your satisfaction, a formal written complaint must be emailed to us no later than 30 days after the completion of your safari.
11. Liability
Zoophilist Adventures & Safaris cannot accept liability or pay compensation for any loss, damage, or expense resulting from unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. This includes, but is not limited to, flight delays or cancellations, war or threat of war, riot, civil unrest, terrorist activity, border closures, government actions, strikes, theft, epidemics, road closures, natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, fire, or technical mechanical problems with transport related to poor road conditions.
12. Travel Insurance

13. Health Requirements
It is the sole responsibility of the client to ensure that they have taken all necessary medical precautions for their journey, including obtaining all required and recommended immunizations, vaccinations, and prophylactic medications (e.g., for malaria).
