Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe before travelling west to Lake Mburo National Park. The drive passes through rolling hills, Ankole cattle ranches, and vibrant rural communities, offering a glimpse into everyday life in western Uganda. Stop for refreshments along the way before arriving at the park in time for lunch and lodge check-in. In the afternoon, set out on a guided cycling experience along designated trails around the park. Accompanied by an experienced guide, ride through open landscapes where zebras, impalas, elands, warthogs, and numerous bird species will be spotted. Cycling provides a unique perspective of the park while allowing close observation of wildlife in a peaceful environment. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Lake Mburo Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive through Lake Mburo National Park. Explore the park’s acacia woodlands, open grasslands, and wetlands while searching for zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, elands, topis, waterbucks, and other wildlife that inhabit the area. Your guide will explain the ecology of the park and help identify the many bird species found throughout the reserve. Return to the lodge for lunch and a short period of relaxation before heading to Lake Mburo for an afternoon boat cruise. Cruise along the calm waters while observing hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes drinking at the shoreline, and a variety of aquatic birds including African fish eagles and kingfishers. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Batwa Forest Experience

Following breakfast, check out and continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda. The route passes terraced hillsides, cultivated valleys, and traditional villages that showcase the region’s striking beauty. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before visiting the Batwa community in the afternoon. Accompanied by Batwa guides, explore the forest while learning about their former hunter-gatherer lifestyle, traditional survival skills, medicinal plants, music, dance, and cultural heritage. The experience provides valuable insight into the history of the indigenous Batwa people and their close relationship with the forest. Return to your lodge later in the day to relax before dinner and an overnight stay near the park.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before beginning your gorilla trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced trackers, hike through the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The duration of the trek varies according to the gorillas’ movements and may involve walking across uneven terrain. Once the gorillas are located, spend one hour observing their daily behavior, including feeding, grooming, and interactions within the family group. Your guide will provide information about gorilla conservation and the ecology of Bwindi’s rainforest. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation while reflecting on the day’s experience. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Enjoy breakfast before departing Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive passes through the scenic Ishasha sector, well known for its population of tree-climbing lions, with the possibility of wildlife sightings along the route depending on time and conditions. Continue through the park to your lodge, arriving in time for lunch and check-in. During the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a guided boat cruise. This natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George supports one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa and attracts elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birdlife along its shores. After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay within the park.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kibale National Park

Begin the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hyenas, waterbucks, and numerous bird species as wildlife becomes active during the cooler morning hours. Your guide will share insights into animal behavior and the park’s diverse ecosystems. Return to the lodge for breakfast before checking out and continuing to Kibale National Park. The journey passes through the scenic Crater Lake region, tea plantations, and the picturesque countryside surrounding Fort Portal. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, check in, and spend the remainder of the day relaxing within the peaceful forest environment. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Community Visit

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Community Visit

Following an early breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing before entering the tropical rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzees. Accompanied by experienced rangers, explore one of Africa’s richest primate habitats while also looking out for black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, colorful birds, and butterflies. Once the chimpanzees are located, spend one hour observing their feeding, communication, and social interactions in their natural environment. Return to the lodge for lunch before visiting the nearby Bigodi Community and Wetland Sanctuary in the afternoon. Meet local residents, learn about community conservation initiatives, and enjoy a guided walk through the wetland, which is well known for its rich birdlife and primate species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer Back to Kampala or Entebbe
Day08

Day 8: Transfer Back to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Travel through the scenic landscapes of western Uganda, passing tea estates, rolling hills, rural communities, and bustling trading centers. Along the route, there will be opportunities for short photography breaks and, depending on your schedule, a stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs, souvenir shopping, enjoy lunch and continue the final stretch of the journey while reflecting on the wildlife, landscapes, and cultural experiences enjoyed throughout the trip. Upon arrival in Kampala or Entebbe, your driver-guide will transfer you to your hotel, residence, or Entebbe International Airport, bringing your journey through Uganda’s diverse natural attractions to a close.
