Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe International Airport before driving southwest through Uganda's beautiful countryside. Stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs, refreshments, and the famous water experiment before continuing to Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge overlooking the park's beautiful landscapes. In the afternoon, head to Lake Mburo for a relaxing boat cruise where you'll encounter hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes drinking along the shoreline, and numerous water birds including fish eagles and kingfishers. After an early breakfast, transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for registration and a briefing by experienced ranger guides. Enter the ancient rainforest and begin your search for a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may last between two and eight hours depending on the gorillas' location, taking you through dense vegetation, steep slopes, and beautiful forest scenery. The trek may take a few hours depending on the movement of the chimpanzees, but the experience is highly rewarding.
