Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your driver-guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. This first day is designed to help you relax after your flight and prepare for the wildlife experiences ahead. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a short walk around the hotel grounds, enjoy views of Mount Meru, or receive a safari briefing from your guide. This is a good opportunity to ask questions about the route, weather, wildlife, and accommodations for the coming days. A comfortable overnight stay in Arusha allows you to recover from travel and start the safari refreshed. Dinner and overnight will be at your selected hotel in Arusha.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park the Elephant Paradise

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s best wildlife destinations. The park is well known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and healthy populations of wildlife that gather along the Tarangire River. During your game drive, look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and various bird species. Tarangire often provides excellent wildlife viewing without the heavy traffic found in some larger parks.
