Day01
Day 1: : Arrival in Rwanda and Transfer to Nyungwe Park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, your guide welcomes you and begins the transfer to Nyungwe National Park in the southwest. The drive takes about five to six hours, passing through Rwanda’s countryside and tea plantations. Depending on arrival time, you may stop for lunch along the way. By evening, you check into your lodge near Nyungwe, where you can relax and prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee trek. This day is mainly for travel, giving you time to settle in before the adventure begins

Day02
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
The day starts early with a briefing at Nyungwe headquarters. Rangers lead you into the forest to track chimpanzees, which may take one to four hours. Once found, you spend an hour observing their behavior. After lunch, you head to the canopy walkway, a suspended bridge above the forest offering views of treetops, birds, and monkeys. This combination of trekking and canopy walk provides both close wildlife encounters and a unique perspective of the forest. By evening, you return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you begin the long transfer to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. The drive takes most of the day, with stops for meals and short breaks along the way. You pass through Kigali before continuing north to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes. By late afternoon, you arrive at your lodge near the park. This day is mainly for travel, allowing you to rest and prepare for the mountain hike scheduled for tomorrow.

Day 4: : Hike Mount Bisoke and Explore Twin Lakes
After an early breakfast, you report to the park headquarters for a briefing. The hike up Mount Bisoke takes about six hours round trip, depending on pace. At the summit, you find a crater lake surrounded by alpine vegetation. After descending, you explore the nearby Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, known for their calm waters and island views. The day combines physical adventure with scenic exploration, offering a rewarding experience before gorilla trekking.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experience
This day begins with a briefing at Volcanoes headquarters. Rangers guide you into the forest to track a gorilla family, a trek that can last one to six hours. Once located, you spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat. After the trek, you return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you join a cultural experience with local communities, where traditional dances, farming practices, and storytelling provide insight into daily life. The evening is spent at your lodge with time to reflect on the day’s rare wildlife and cultural encounters.

Day 6: Hike to Dian Fossey Tomb and Return to Kigali for City Tour
On your final day, you hike to the Dian Fossey tomb site, a three to four hour trek through the forest. The hike offers insight into her conservation work and legacy in protecting mountain gorillas. Afterward, you return to Kigali, arriving in the afternoon. Depending on time, you may visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, or enjoy a short city tour before your flight. This marks the end of your Rwanda adventure, combining primate trekking, mountain hiking, canopy walks, and cultural experiences.
