After an early breakfast, transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, begin your trek through the ancient rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take between two and eight hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is an unforgettable one-hour encounter observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. After receiving your trekking certificate, enjoy lunch before departing for the scenic shores of Lake Bunyonyi. Arrive in the evening, check in to your lakeside lodge, relax, and admire the tranquil surroundings.

Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi Exploration

Wake up to spectacular views of Lake Bunyonyi, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Africa" because of its terraced hills and beautiful scenery. After breakfast, enjoy a guided canoe or boat ride across the lake, visiting some of its famous islands while learning about their history and local legends. Continue with a community visit to experience the traditions and daily life of the Bakiga people. After lunch, spend the afternoon at leisure, swimming in the bilharzia-free waters, relaxing at the lodge, birdwatching, or simply taking in the breathtaking scenery.
