Day01
Day 1: Early Pick and Akagera Exploration
Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from Kigali by your professional guide, followed by a drive to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah park and home to the Big Five. Upon arrival, enjoy an exciting game drive through the park’s diverse landscapes of open plains, woodlands, wetlands, and lakes. During the drive, you may spot elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, and other wildlife species that thrive within the protected area. The park also supports numerous bird species, making it an excellent destination for nature lovers. Stop at various viewpoints to appreciate the beautiful scenery and capture memorable photographs. Enjoy lunch within the park before continuing with more wildlife viewing during the afternoon. Later, depart for Volcanoes National Park area where you will check into your lodge, enjoy dinner, and prepare for gorilla trekking the following day.

Day02
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Gorilla Guardian Village
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, hike through the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, spend one hour observing their daily activities, social interactions, and unique behaviors in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, visit the Gorilla Guardian Village for an authentic cultural experience. Learn about traditional Rwandan customs, participate in cultural activities, watch local dance performances, and gain insight into community conservation initiatives that support wildlife protection. The visit provides a deeper appreciation of Rwanda’s cultural heritage before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Trek Golden Monkeys and Return to Kigali
Begin the day with breakfast before heading to Volcanoes National Park for an exciting golden monkey trekking experience. These playful and endangered primates are known for their striking golden fur and energetic behavior within the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains. Guided by experienced trackers, hike through the forest and spend time observing the monkeys as they feed, leap through vegetation, and interact within their groups. The trek offers excellent photography opportunities and complements the gorilla experience by showcasing another unique primate species found in Rwanda. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and check out. Begin the scenic drive back to Kigali, passing through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside and rolling hills. Depending on your departure schedule, enjoy a brief city stop before being transferred to Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your memorable Rwanda safari
