Day01
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda, City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes
On arrival in Kigali, your guide will meet you and take you on a short city tour. Highlights include the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, and cultural centers that give insight into Rwanda’s history and modern life. After lunch at a local restaurant, you begin the drive to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. The road trip offers views of rolling hills and small villages along the way. By evening, you arrive at your lodge near the park, check in, and rest. Staying close to Volcanoes ensures you are ready for golden monkey trekking the next morning. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day02
Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking and Cross Border to Mgahinga
After breakfast, head to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before starting golden monkey trekking. Guided by rangers, you walk into the bamboo forest to track a habituated troop. Watching their lively movements and golden fur makes this a rewarding wildlife experience. The trek usually takes a few hours, after which you return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, cross the Cyanika border into Uganda and continue to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Arrive at your lodge near the park, check in, and relax. Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali
Start the day with an early breakfast before reporting to Mgahinga park headquarters for a briefing. Guided by rangers, you trek into the forest to track the habituated gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but once found, you spend one hour observing their behavior. Watching them feed, care for their young, and move through the forest is a rare wildlife experience. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for the drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for brief shopping or relaxation before departure. This marks the end of your three-day safari combining golden monkeys in Rwanda and gorillas in Uganda.
